NORTHERN LIGHTS AND STARGAZING

Northern Lights & Stargazing in a small group

On this northern lights tour, you are picked up and and whisked away from the city lights to where the best sightings are predicted. As we check the most updated forecast and space weather data, we aim to get off the beaten path and away from crowds to enjoy the Northern Lights in serenity. At our chosen spot we also use our powerful stargazing telescope to explore the night sky. From crude details of the planets in our solar system and their moons to deep space phenomena light years away!

Your Chances of Seeing the Northern Lights

The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and as such can never be guaranteed. For a successful sighting, we need three things to come together: solar wind, darkness and at least a partly clear sky.
Our chance of success is maximised by our knowledge of the forecast and space weather. That, combined with experience, makes our success rate a whopping 90%.

When the chances of a sighting are low we cancel the tour and offer you a free re-schedule or a full refund.

If we do not see the Northern Lights on your tour you are welcome to join us again for free, as often as needed within 2 years.

Tour details

How does the tour work?

We make our Go/NoGo decision as late as 18:30 each day based on the most recent weather data, and e-mail all guests a confirmation either way.

Pick you up from your doorstep takes place anywhere in the city center.

We drive out of the city lights to where we predict the best viewing conditions. There we assess the conditions and make a decision to stay or keep searching.

If we have a good visibility we explore the night sky with our telescope.

Photos of you under the northern lights, taken my our experts, are included in the tour.

Later in the evening we serve hot chocolate and Kleina (a local delicacy). If you prefer, you can choose tea instead of the home made real hot chocolate when you make your booking.
