Begin your journey at Aurora Reykjavík, Iceland’s only Northern Lights Center. Visit during the day to explore the rich history, mythology, and science of the aurora borealis through engaging exhibits and interactive displays. Test your camera settings in the Northern Lights photo simulator, watch a stunning 30-minute time-lapse film of auroras captured across Iceland in our cinema, and immerse yourself in the world’s first 360° VR Northern Lights experience.
The self-guide tour, available in multiple languages, takes about 1 hour and you can start the visit any time during the museum opening hours.
NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE
As evening falls, head to Reykjavík’s Old Harbour for the Northern Lights by Boat tour. This 2-hour cruise takes you into the dark waters of the North Atlantic, with expert guides helping you search the skies and sharing fascinating stories and science behind the lights. Relax in the warm onboard cafeteria or step out onto the deck when the aurora makes its appearance—announced clearly over the speaker system so you won’t miss a moment.
The friendly crew takes photos during the tour, available to download afterward at no extra cost.
