La Oficina Meteorológica de Islandia mide la actividad solar. Combinado con el pronóstico de nubes, te dará pistas sobre dónde es probable que se vean las Auroras Boreales.
Usa el control deslizante en la parte inferior del gráfico para ajustar la fecha y hora del pronóstico.
Ten en cuenta que el pronóstico oficial en vivo de las Auroras Boreales cambia con frecuencia y es más confiable alrededor de la tarde del día actual.
Cobertura de nubes
Una regla simple: No cielo despejado = No Aurora Boreal.
Hay diferentes niveles de nubes que tienen consecuencias distintas.
Cambia la visualización de los tipos de nubes utilizando las pestañas en la parte superior del gráfico.
Las nubes altas realmente no nos afectan en Islandia. Concéntrate en las nubes bajas y medias, y busca manchas blancas o tonos más claros en el mapa.
Actividad solar
La escala de 9 puntos en el lado derecho de la página es una forma sencilla de juzgar tus posibilidades de ver alguna Aurora.
0-2: Baja o casi ninguna actividad. Cualquier cosa que veas puede aparecer tan pálida como una nube.
2-3: Moderada, pero con buenas posibilidades de ver las Auroras Boreales. Este es el pronóstico más común. ¡Sal a intentarlo!
4-6: ¡Hurra! ¡Se acerca una gran tormenta solar, así que no pierdas la oportunidad de ver increíbles exhibiciones aurorales!
7-9: ¡Altamente inusual, tal vez tus amigos y familiares en casa también vean las Auroras Boreales!
Nivel de oscuridad
Para ver las auroras boreales, la oscuridad es esencial. Por eso, el otoño, el invierno y la primavera son las mejores épocas para observarlas. Durante los meses de verano en Islandia, el sol está presente casi todo el día, lo que crea una experiencia única, pero no es ideal para ver las auroras boreales.
En el mapa de nubes, encontrarás un cuadro etiquetado como "Sol", que muestra los horarios de la puesta y salida del sol. Si no estás seguro de cómo esos horarios afectan la luminosidad, el cuadro también indicará si es lo suficientemente oscuro como para ver las luces.
La luna
