Aurora Reykjavík – The Northern Lights Center – is Iceland’s original Northern Lights museum. It’s an interactive experience where you can learn about the aurora borealis through science, stories, and stunning photography. Visitors can enjoy immersive films, touch-screen exhibits, and see the Northern Lights all year round – indoors.

A typical visit lasts about 45 – 60 minutes, but you’re welcome to stay longer to rewatch the film or explore the displays at your own pace.

Yes, we have a Northern Lights-themed gift shop and gallery featuring local photography, handmade jewellery, and souvenirs. Most of our items are only available at Aurora Reykjavík. We also have a small café with excellent coffee specialities, and homemade, local pastries.

Yes, Aurora Reykjavík is located near FlyOver Iceland, Whales of Iceland, Lava Show and the Maritime Museum – perfect for a full day of exploring Reykjavík’s creative harbor district.

These excursions are ideal for anyone – families, photographers, or first-time visitors – who want a personalised experience and enhance their chances to see the Northern Lights without the hassle of driving themselves in winter conditions in the night, while trying to interpret the complex forecasts. We focus on flexibility, following real-time forecasts to clear-sky spots around southwest Iceland, and therefore can proudly say that we have the highest success rate.
