Itinéraire
- Day 1: Arrival in Reykjavík & Northern Lights by Sea
Your adventure begins in Reykjavík, where you’ll have time to explore the capital’s eclectic charm before heading to the harbor for a Northern Lights boat tour. Away from city lights, you’ll scan the Arctic skies for the aurora borealis while floating peacefully in Faxaflói Bay. - Day 2: Golden Circle Wonders & South Coast
Leave the city behind as you visit Iceland’s legendary Golden Circle. Walk between two continents at Þingvellir National Park, see the Strokkur geyser erupt, and marvel at the power of Gullfoss waterfall. From there, travel south to witness the dramatic beauty of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls before continuing to your countryside hotel near Vík. - Day 3: Black Sand Beaches, Ice Caves & Glacial Lagoons
Explore the striking Reynisfjara black sand beach and the sea stacks of Reynisdrangar. Depending on the season, enjoy a glacier hike or an unforgettable visit to a naturally formed ice cave beneath Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. End the day at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where icebergs drift toward the sea, and stroll along the glistening icebergs at the Diamond Beach. - Day 4: East Fjords & Wilderness Center
Journey through the remote East Fjords, passing steep mountain roads and sleepy fishing villages. Stop in Djúpivogur before reaching the Wilderness Center, an atmospheric guesthouse and cultural hub where you’ll learn about Iceland’s rural heritage and enjoy traditional hospitality in an off-the-grid setting. - Day 5: North Iceland’s Natural Treasures
Departing from Egilsstaðir, we begin the day at Stuðlagil Canyon, where striking basalt columns rise above a glacial river. From there, we head to the Lake Mývatn region, a geological hotspot. You’ll explore the steaming earth and vibrant mineral colors of Námaskarð, followed by a walk through the eerie Dimmuborgir lava fields. Later, there’s an optional visit to the Mývatn Nature Baths, a relaxing geothermal spa surrounded by volcanic scenery. Before reaching Akureyri, we stop at the legendary Goðafoss Waterfall. - Day 6: Whale Watching in Eyjafjörður & Northern Fishing Villages
Today begins with a whale watching tour in Eyjafjörður, Iceland’s longest fjord, known for its rich marine life including humpback whales. In the afternoon, wind through the scenic Tröllaskagi Peninsula and explore the historic fishing town of Siglufjörður before settling in for the night in the northwest countryside. - Day 7: West Iceland’s Hot Springs, Waterfalls & History
Explore the highlights of West Iceland, starting with a hike up the Grábrók volcanic crater. Visit the cascading Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls, and experience the steam and power of Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot spring in Europe. You’ll also visit Reykholt, once home to the famed medieval writer Snorri Sturluson. Return to Reykjavík for your final night. As night falls, keep an eye on the sky for one more chance to see the aurora on your minibus northern lights tour. - Day 8: Departure
