Loaded on one of\u00a0the\u00a0comfort buses, you will be treated to breathtaking views of West Iceland before we even\u00a0get to\u00a0our first stop.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Snaefellsnes\u00a0Peninsula<\/strong>\u00a0has made a name for itself for its unusual and diverse landscapes. As we make our way to the first stop, we will ride across the moss-covered\u00a0<strong>lava fields of\u00a0Berserkjahraun<\/strong>.\u00a0Viking legend has it that this\u00a0is where two Swedish &#8220;berserkers&#8221;\u00a0(members of rival tribes)\u00a0created Iceland&#8217;s first road. During your time in Iceland, you will learn\u00a0that\u00a0folklore still has a huge impact on modern-day culture and sites.<\/p>\n<p>Located on the northern side of the\u00a0Sn\u00e6fellsnes\u00a0Peninsula, the first attraction of the day is the<strong>\u00a0&#8220;arrowhead&#8221; mountain\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Kirkjufell.<\/strong>\u00a0The mountain protrudes from the ocean at 463 meters (1,519 feet)\u00a0and towers over a fishing village below. With its unique shape and reflective effect in the water below,\u00a0Kirkjufell\u00a0is extremely popular with photographers. You won&#8217;t want to forget your camera for this stop\u00a0\u2013\u00a0not to mention the mountain is surrounded by some epic waterfalls.<\/p>\n<p>Our next stop will be the cinematic<strong>\u00a0Dj\u00fapal\u00f3nssandur<\/strong>\u00a0black pebble beach. Here your guide will treat you to some fascinating stories about local shipwrecks\u00a0while you enjoy some awesome beach views.<\/p>\n<p>Fishing villages are a key feature of any coastal tour in Iceland. For our excursion, we will stop in the charming town of\u00a0<strong>Arnarstapi<\/strong>.\u00a0Visit the town\u2019s\u00a0highlight\u00a0<strong>Mi\u00f0gj\u00e1\u00a0bridge<\/strong>, a natural rock arch off the coast, and experience life away from the hustle and bustle. Just east of town, we&#8217;ll stop at\u00a0<strong>B\u00fa\u00f0akirkja<\/strong>,\u00a0a lovely 19th-century church and of course check out the seals in\u00a0<strong>Ytri-Tunga.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The journey back to Reykjav\u00edk is just as scenic as the departure. We will travel across more dynamic lava fields, some of which are home to basalt columns. These fascinating formations are geometric works of art made by mother nature herself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Borgarnes\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 one of Iceland&#8217;s many charming villages \u2013 will be our last stop before arriving at the capital.
