It takes you on an unforgettable journey through Iceland\u2019s most catastrophic and diverse area, rich in <strong>volcanic and geothermal features<\/strong>. The stunning beauty of <strong>Lake M\u00fdvatn<\/strong> has been the main attraction in the north for decades and east of the lake we enter the highlands arriving to J\u00f6kuls\u00e1 Glacier River in <strong>Vatnaj\u00f6kull National Park<\/strong>. The breathtaking landscape of <strong>J\u00f6kuls\u00e1<\/strong> is formed by massive glacier floods from Vatnaj\u00f6kull, Iceland\u2019s biggest glacier.<\/p>\n<p>The canyons and rock formations visited in the Diamond Circle tour are impressive on their own but the iconic <strong>Dettifoss waterfall<\/strong>, the most powerful waterfall in Europe, is nothing short of majestic. The tour takes us north to the Arctic Coastline where we explore the canyon formation <strong>\u00c1sbyrgi<\/strong> and drive along the coastline to the beautiful fishing village of <strong>H\u00fasav\u00edk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Diamond Circle offers the best Iceland has to offer. Sit back and enjoy our expert local guidance through this magical and rough terrain.<\/p>\n<p><em>From June to the middle of August, we stop at Tj\u00f6rnes Peninsula where we can observe puffins nesting in the impressive cliffs by the coastline.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Tour description<\/h3>\n<p>Pickup is from 7:45-8:00 am, and we start our tour in the North.<\/p>\n<p>We drive east from Akureyri, cross Eyjafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur fjord and enjoy the view of the town, the ocean and the mountains surrounding the fjord. After only a half hour drive we arrive at the picturesque Go\u00f0afoss Waterfall where we stop before we travel for another half hour to the Lake M\u00fdvatn area. Before heading into the highlands we have a short break at a local restaurant or a grocery store at the lake.<\/p>\n<p>From Lake Myvatn we head up to the highlands where we explore the dramatic and captivating landscape formed by glacier floods and J\u00f6kuls\u00e1 Glacier River.
