Golden circle

If you only have time for one tour in Iceland – the Golden Circle tour is the one! Covering about 300 kilometres (190 mi) looping from Reykjavik into the southern uplands of Iceland and back, you will be surrounded by stunning landscape and discover the natural wonders of Iceland.

The three primary stops on the route are the Þingvellir Nationalpark, the Gullfosswaterfall, and the geothermal area in Haukadalur, which contains the geysers Geysir and Strokkur. Though Geysir has been mostly dormant for many years, Strokkur continues to erupt every 5–10 minutes and spits its hot steam up to 35m high. Other stops include the Kerið volcanic crater and the town of Hveragerð. There are many different kinds of tours available.
